Try Australia. Or New Zealand. :-)

Sorry, I don't know the US-landscape that well.

Hey chicka beana I just got another note from MAR today saying they are open this summer and I think we both should try Beloit again. I have a big list on my desk if you want me to email it to you. So glad that girl is letting your write, would you tell her please, to pass that on to my daughters.

Paper Street only reads during the summer, and Gargoyle's open too.

Great! Thanks, everyone! :-)

RHINO is currently reading submissions! We're sort of the opposite of most reading periods, but that's a good thing, imo! :)

Terrain.org: A Journal of the Built & Natural Environments -- online, international journal publishing poetry, editorials, essays, fiction, articles, reviews, an interview, the ARTerrain gallery, and the UnSprawl case study in each theme-based issue. Upcoming theme: Metropolitan Mosaic. After that: Garden Gate, The Music of It All. Online journal is at www.terrain.org, and submission guidelines are at www.terrain.org/about/submit.htm.

The Hudson Review guidelines I see say the poetry submission period is April through June...

The Eleventh Muse is certainly open for submissions anytime. :-P

Margie, Atlanta Review, Many Mountains Moving, and National Poetry Review are others off the top of my head...

And thank you, everyone, for some others I didn't think of.

Alaska Quarterly Review reads unsolicited manuscripts between August 15 and May 15. Just in case you're like me and procrastinate about sending off submissions and they sit on your desk for a couple of months.

Thanks for this thread, Suzanne, and to all who responded--what a useful list! I'm feeling energized already! :)

You're welcome, Mary. It is nice to know that there are so many journals reading submissions during the summer, and that it only *seems* like everything shuts down. :-)
