After some intense research it looks like I'll be able to go to Spain and Little Havana this year -- thanks to the generous artist fellowship otherwise it would never be possible -- it's just starting to sink in, I've been dreaming of going to Spain for so long now and although I've traveled widely I haven't been back to Miami since we moved north when I was five -- and I'll be able to write, write, write about all of it! Can you tell I'm excited? I'm also going to Chicago this year -- so 2007 will most certainly be the year of travel and a much needed year of travel at that -- Yes!

I have a poet friend whose husband is Spanish, so they go there every few years. I believe he's from the Valladolid area. It always sounds like a lovely place.

I was born in Miami, but have not been back for many moons, and when I went I'd say I under-appreciated it!
