When Ecstasy is Inconvenient

Feign a great calm;
all gay transport soon ends.
Chant: who knows—
flight's end or flight's beginning
for the resting gull?

Heart, be still.
Say there is money but it rusted;
say the time of moon is not right for escape.
It's the color in the lower sky
too broadly suffused,
or the wind in my tie.

Know amazedly how
often one takes his madness
into his own hands
and keeps it.

Just in case you don't see the comment I left for you on my blog...

Hi Suzanne,

With a 32 Poems subscription, a subscriber starts with the most recent issue unless the let me know they wish it otherwise.

If it's late September and the next issue will be out in October, then I'll start with the October issue. If it's February and someone would have to wait until the next new issue in April, then I'll send them the previous issue.

Of course, I'm happy to do what someone prefers and they can always let me know.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks, Deborah. I think my April issue must have gotten lost in the mail.
