Yesterday was spent in the garden. I had my husband prune the maple sapling sprouting behind the backyard fence -- and then there was light! -- but the best of pruning happened with the tree growing by this window. Now there's a clear view of the bird's nest centered in the crook where four branches divide. I can see the roses bud in the morning and bloom by mid-afternoon, eye the birdbath, budding daylilies, the peonies. I'm not going to get any work done, am I?
Confession: It makes me sad to leave my garden for another weekend. Back on Monday.
