My son Jack is seven today (!). I love this age. He was given a choice of having a birthday party with all his friends or going to visit The Mystic Aquarium for the first time, I am so relieved that he chose the aquarium. I'm not a fan of the whole kid party scene. I made cupcakes for his class, and later today I'll pick up his cake (decorated with a baseball diamond) and some balloons. Pizza for dinner. His brother, his sister, his parents. Sounds like a party to me. Holy cow, I can't believe he's seven!

AWP is fast approaching. I'm going and excited to meet my publisher for the first time in person. I have even made tentative plans to attend certain panels and I'm so happy to be rooming with my pal, Dana. Are you going? Will I see you there? I hope so.

I wish you would be seeing me at AWP, but alas, it isn't meant to be. Maybe next year since MilSpeak goes. They might be able to subsidize part of my trip, seeing my book will be out then and they might have a panel. However, I cannot say.
I can't believe that baby boy is 7!
Happy Birthday Jack! Enjoy the Aquarium. I always hated those bday party scenes. Looking at sharks and jellies and other marine life sounds like a lot more fun.
Happy Birthday to Jack.
I'll be at AWP and hope we find some time to meet in person!
Thanks for the good wishes! Jack had an "Awesome" birthday.
