I'm asking for new journal subscriptions this Christmas and I would love your recommendations. Out of all the literary mags out there give me your top five. Those journals that consistently publish work you love. The lit mags you can't wait to see in your mailbox.

It's hard to get my list down to 5! Let's see, Hayden's Ferry, Crab Orchard Review, The Beloit Poetry Journal, 88, 32 Poems...(and Rattle, Diner, and Poetry for the letters and reviews)
Chuck and Jean have it all wrong. Here you go:
1. The Canary
2. Fence
3. No
4. Good Foot
5. The Hat
6. Verse
7. 6x6 (Ugly Duckling Presse)
8. Forklift, Ohio
9. Skanky Possum
10. Jubilat
Hey, I like Canary too! But she did ask for the top 5...you have to stop somewhere! I read about fifteen journals a month, so it's hard to pick just a handful.
APR
Shenandoah
Field
jubilat
Redactions
Steve Mueske
If you feel like going international, I'd recommend Meanjin [Australia], HEAT [Australia], Magma [UK], Ambit [UK] and The Stinging Fly [Ireland].
Thanks, ya'll!
Hey Whims,
I've had subscriptions to APR, Poetry, and others, but a lot of the newer journals aren't in my bookstore so I'm so glad to get all these suggestions. So far it looks like Jubilat is a sure thing and a couple of others mentioned here and elsewhere. Thanks!
My favs:
32 Poems
Beloit Poetry Review
Cranky
88 (though I'm not sure they take subscriptions, but you can buy copies online)
Rattle
Crab Orchard Review
