Thank You Black Dog Antique Store

On a whim the other day I stopped in to browse the used books and picked up a first edition with dust jacket of Millay's Wine from These Grapes. I also picked up Modern American Poetry, 1925 3rd Edition, edited by Louis Untermeyer (hardcover, no dust jacket). Leaving the section I spied four new coffee table books on of all places Cuba. Yes, it was my lucky day. I added two of the coffee table books to my pile and went to pay -- I spent about $36.00 total, but I still felt I had spent too much because I've been buying way too many books lately. This morning out of curiosity I looked up the going price on the Millay -- ebay has it for $47.99 without a dust jacket! And the Modern American Poetry is listed for $22.00. (It's slightly shabbier than mine) Not that I intend to sell them, it's practically impossible to tear a book from my hands, but I certainly feel better about my impulsive book buying.

I dreamed about being in Cuba Monday night. Now I know why. I was dreaming of you.
