Ready,

I am ready for spring. I know this because I am sketching out plans to turn our pathetic attempts at a shade garden in our backyard into a courtyard secret garden. Yes, a secret garden with paths, raised beds, privacy, pergolas, a table and chairs, eclectic, yet understated ornaments, a splash of color here, a nook there... seriously impossible, but fun to plan. What's doable this year: extending the garden bed on the right of the house to match the length of the garden bed on the left of the house. Combining the corner front right beds so I don't have to hear about how difficult it is to mow the front yard. Mulch, mulch, mulch and more mulch. Of course there is about a foot of snow outside right now, must be cabin fever.

Dreaming is free, but landscape design services can be expensive! Perhaps time to call in the favor of a new friend, some crazy guy Scott you met in New York...?

Right. Can you imagine? Hey, Scott, remember me? Listen, could you give me some free ideas since I know between your family, business and writing you just have tons of free time... Forget the design costs, the cost of a pergola almost gave me the vapors!

It is also fun to plan a spring break vacation in when one has cabin fever, though dreaming of that is all I'll be doing.

Yes, vacation dreaming works too.

Garden porn, I know. I'm starting seeds. It's way too early so they'll be doomed to live and die in pots, but I must have something green and new. And King George says plant cat grass.

Garden porn. Yes, exactly. LMAO.

I’ve missed you. It was so nice to come here and see an entry. I’ve been bitchin that no one I want to read blogs anymore then I get awarded by both you and Cynthia---it made my day. Oh the garden, I will build you a mosaic that will cost you nothing but broken dishes. Sculptures are the best thing to put in a shade garden b/c they require no sun. I bought seeds last week: moonflower, bright lights and cut and come again. I slept with them by my bed b/c I am that pitiful!
